Opening reader…
A clearer view of your building
Explore your BIM model, right in your browser.
IFCOK is a free online IFC viewer and reader for architects, engineers, contractors and anyone who needs to understand a building model. Open an IFC file to explore its shape and the information behind each element.
No software installation or sign-up is needed. Start with your own file, or try the included Duplex example to see how the viewer works.
Open the IFC viewer ↑See the geometry. Read the building data.
Navigate in 3D
Orbit the building, fit it to the view and switch to top, front, right or isometric views. Use class colours to distinguish types of elements.
Find the right element
Browse the spatial hierarchy or search by name, IFC class or entity ID. Filter by storey and class, then isolate or hide elements to understand their context.
Read IFC properties
Inspect property sets, quantities and relationships supplied by the model author. Follow source records to see more than the visible geometry.

How to open an IFC file online

Select an element to read its properties. Use filters and visibility controls to focus on the parts you need.
Your model stays with you
Local processing. Optional browser storage.
IFCOK processes your local model on your device; its contents are not uploaded to a server. By default, the model is kept in memory for the current session.
To reopen it later, enable Save in this browser before choosing a file. This stores the source and view in this browser on this device. Keep the resulting page URL to restore it, and use Remove saved model to delete the saved copy. Sharing that URL does not share the model.
IFC viewer questions
Is IFCOK a free IFC viewer?
Yes. You can open IFC files, view the 3D model and inspect its data for free. There is no account, subscription or desktop installation required.
Which IFC files can I open?
IFCOK reads uncompressed .ifc STEP files using IFC2X3 or IFC4. The current reader accepts files up to 64 MiB and 500,000 entities, with additional geometry limits. IFC4X3, IFCZIP and native Revit .rvt files are not supported.
Can I view a BIM model online without uploading it?
Yes. IFCOK loads the viewer in your browser and processes the model on your device. Opening a local IFC file does not upload its contents to an IFCOK server.
What can I inspect in an IFC model?
Explore 3D geometry, the spatial hierarchy, building storeys and element classes. Select an element to read its properties, quantities, relationships and source data where these are included in the file.
Can I edit or convert IFC files?
IFCOK is a viewer and reader. It does not edit BIM elements or convert a model into a native authoring format. Download source returns your original IFC file.
Can I open two models?
Use Open second viewer to inspect two files side by side. Each viewer has independent selection, filters and storage. The models are not merged or automatically compared.
